This course explores design strategies for tailoring elevator interiors to project-specific needs, compares original equipment manufacturer (OEM) elevator interiors, bespoke elevator interiors, and configurable elevator interior systems (CEISs), and examines best practices for specifying CEISs to enhance safety, performance, and visual continuity.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Analyze how elevator interior design can meet project-specific requirements while maintaining occupant safety, accessibility, and compliance with building codes.
  • Assess material and finish selections to balance aesthetic and functional needs with durability, maintenance needs, and environmental impact.
  • Differentiate between original equipment manufacturer (OEM) elevator interiors, bespoke elevator interiors, and configurable elevator interior systems (CEISs), and specify CEISs to enhance functionality, occupant experience, cost effectiveness, and long-term performance.
  • Implement best practices in designing, documenting, and specifying elevator interiors to support user safety, comfort, and visual continuity in collaboration with manufacturers.
