Wood production is a long and complex process from forest to the lumber rack. Understanding how boards are actually made is essential to know exactly what is possible when designing and building with wood. Wood species plays a major role but more and more market trends dictate how boards are sawn and into what sizes and thicknesses. This course will take a close look at wood production in order to uncover how to specify wood that can actually be purchased with the least resistance and when those special circumstances arise, how to "hack" the production to create one of a kind wood designs.
