This course examines the benefits of ICF walls, including materials, components, design flexibility, plus, building science characteristics and construction advantages.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

• Discuss how using ICFs, in residential and commercial construction projects, offers an innovative, simple, high-performance, and sustainable wall assembly​
• Identify how ICFs, as thermally efficient mass walls, enable lower operating and maintenance costs versus other traditional wall assemblies, such as wood, masonry or steel studs
• Discuss project management and construction advantages - efficiencies in design, construction, providing faster completion and occupancy rates​
• Explain how the durability of an ICF wall provides safety and resiliency, offering a secure environment from weather events - fire, high winds, floods, and flying debris
• Explain the many building science characteristics of ICFs for the building envelope, facilitating comfort, safety and a healthy indoor environment
