Versatex Plant Tour Video: From Manufacturing, to Fabrication and Installation

During the tour video, architects will see how PVC and the micro ingredients are blended into a homogenous compound, the extrusion of free foam cellular PVC sheet and how that differs from the celuka process, in line processes such as board cutting and embossing, off line fabrication and installation best practices.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • How cellular PVC free foam sheet is extruded and cut into board profiles, including environmentally-friendly practices used to manufacture and recycle PVC. This includes how plastic manufacturers can recycle 99% of all process waste and how extrusion lines can be used to heat plants to eliminate the need for fuel/gas-based heating.
  • Composition and properties of Cellular PVC trim, including the process of component blending to form a PVC trim compound, and material safety.
  • Best installation practices and methods for profiles and assemblies such as window surrounds, skirtboards, beadboard, soffit systems, cornerboards, column wraps, corner boards, pocketed trim, fascia systems, etc. and how elements can be incorporated into design.
  • Tips and techniques for fabricating free foam cellular PVC sheet, and how all of these design elements promote longevity and improves lifestyle.
