This course explores using natural light and its importance in the built environment. This course will provide an overview of natural light’s benefits and key impacts experienced by building occupants and owners. Automated shading will be introduced as a natural light management solution to maximize quality daylight, preserve views, prevent glare, and minimize solar heat gain. By the end of the course, the benefits of daylight management should be clear, as well as how it results in more efficient buildings and better interior environments.
